Abstract

The objective of this study was to systematize the factors that influence attentional behaviors in children with attention problems. The systematic review was carried out using the proposed factors that affect attention included in the ATENC!Ó questionnaire, which was developed by the Barcelona Institute for Global Health. For the establishment of the outcomes of this research, factors were analyzed and organized into categories and indicators, which include two types of factors: Intrinsic and extrinsic. Additionally, seven distinct categories were identified: Physical and emotional health, personal conditions before and during the test, social relationships and interactions, eating habits and addictive substances, use of technology and other habits, perceived classroom conditions during the test, and finally, sociodemographic information. All studies included in the systematic review meet the inclusion criteria established in the research design. Furthermore, it is emphasized that at least one study was identified for each category of the ATENC!Ó questionnaire. The category where the most studies were identified was "Sociodemographic information," specifically highlighting the indicators "Gender" and "Economic difficulties." Therefore, it can be concluded that this research contributes to the systematization of factors influencing attentional behaviors in children with attention problems, directly contributing to the theoretical strengthening of approaches like the ATENC!Ó questionnaire.
